Ali Clarke: Couples Therapy from a psychodynamic, psychosexual perspective

Friday 17th November 2023 @ 7:45 pm - 9:15 pm

Couples Therapy from a psychodynamic, psychosexual perspective. I will be discussing how couples therapy is different from individual therapy and some some of the common presentations.   I will offer a number of models and tools I use with couples and two or three case studies to illustrate examples of successes and challenges (and how success might be defined in couple work).  The case study material will not be recorded and will be an opportunity to share and learn with others in the room.

Ali Clarke  BSc.  MSc: says, “I have been a couples therapist for over 20 years, training originally at the London Marriage Guidance Council and at the Tavistock Centre for Couples Relationships (TCCR, now known as Tavistock Relationships) where I then worked for 15 years.  I have been in private practice in Oxford for 12 years.  My framework is psychodynamic and psychosexual and my approach is fairly long term with a focus on attachment and the therapeutic relationship.”
