Val is a group analyst and psychodynamic psychotherapist working in private practice in West Oxfordshire. She was for 12 years a tutor on the Psychodynamic Studies programme at the University of Oxford. She currently teaches on the Oxford Foundation Course in Group Analysis, is a member of the staff team on the Qualifying Course in Group Analysis in Tirana, Albania and is a visiting lecturer at courses and conferences throughout the UK.
