Anna Motz – Self Harm in Young Women: An Attack on the Maternal Object.

Anna Motz is a psychoanalytic psychotherapist and also a consultant clinical and forensic psychologist with extensive experience of assessing and treating women with histories of violence against themselves and others. Anna works as a consultant psychologist with the Oxford Family Assessment and Safeguarding Service, MBT Supervisor for the Anna Freud Centre and Visiting Lecturer for the Tavistock Clinic. She is the author of The Psychology of Female Violence: Crimes Against the Body  (Routledge 2001;2008) editor of Managing Self Harm: Psychological Perspectives  (Routledge, 2009) and Toxic Couples: The Psychology of Domestic Violence and co author of the forthcoming  Invisible Trauma: Women, Difference and the Criminal Justice System (Routledge, 2018)
